Our Mission and Values

Our mission

In Scoil Áine we acknowledge the uniqueness of students in our care, each with individual needs and potentialities. We place our students at the heart of everything we plan for and do. It is our aim that every young person in our school, whatever their personal circumstances can learn and achieve their highest potential, academically, emotionally, spirituality and socially. We focus on our students’ individual strengths and talents and promote sport, hobbies, special
interests, drama, music and the arts.
Our mission is to create a safe and nurturing learning environment where our young people feel valued, respected, supported, cared for and a sense of belonging. We also provide a supportive framework for their families.

Our Values

The success of our school is based on providing high quality holistic educational experiences for all the young people as they embark on their journey of healing and recovery.
Our school Motto ‘Sharing the Journey’ means that we will be with our students every step of the way building their self-esteem, confidence, belief and equipping them with the skills to thrive either on their return to mainstream, their next educational journey, or beyond with the end goal that our students will lead a happy, rewarding and successful life. One that they so rightly deserve to have.
We endeavour to achieve this through our four ‘Be’ values which is reflected throughout our school culture and shared with our students daily.
Be Kind: To others, be kind to yourself, be kind in communications and actions, and respect each other and your community.
Be Happy: Enjoy learning, become great at whatever you do, be proud in your decisions and achievements.
Be Heard: In your thoughts and feelings, in your aspirations and life choices.
Believe: In yourself, believe in others and be part of the school family of support network.
